The two Romanian officials on a fact-finding visit in Singapore on the hit-and-run case involving former diplomat Silviu Ionescu returned to Romania on Tuesday. The two representatives of the Joint Technical Working Group had interviewed witnesses in Singapore. A court in Bucharest had ordered Dr Ionescu to be detained for a 29-day period, pending investigations. He is wanted in Singapore for a hit-and-run accident which killed a pedestrian in December last year.
