A foreign national who allegedly slapped former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s security personnel is believed to be a diplomat, police said. Delhi Police, which is on the lookout for a woman who was caught on camera for allegedly slapping ASI Om Prakash, is visiting several embassies looking for the woman whose identity is yet to be ascertained. Prakash is posted with the PM Security wing of police and had lodged a complaint against the woman after she slapped him for not allowing her inside an event, citing security protocol. The police visited the Turkish Embassy, as the woman appeared to be of Turkish origin. They questioned staff there and quizzed a woman diplomat there, according to sources. They will also visit the Israel Embassy after that, police said. Police registered a case against “unknown persons” for assaulting a public servant and obstructing them from performing their duty. They have zeroed in on some women foreign nationals part of the invitation list for the book launch where the alleged incident took place.
