The head of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma Alexei Pushkov said that Russia may withdraw its ambassador from Turkey in response to the Turkish attack on the Russian Su-24, “Izvestiya” reports. “There are steps with which countries express their attitude to this kind of hostility. First of all, it is the withdrawal of ambassador and demand to the ambassador of the State which committed aggressive acts, to leave the country. Such decisions may be taken, and they represent a very high degree of conflict between the two countries,” he said. According to Pushkov, severance of diplomatic relations between the two countries is unlikely to occur, as such measures are taken only in cases where States are moving in a state of war, or one does not recognize the authority of another.
