An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off near the Omani Embassy’s cultural attaché building in Cairo on Saturday morning. Six cars belonging to Egyptians present in the area were damaged. H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt, said, “The blast did not target the cultural attaché building, as the explosion took place on another street, opposite of where the attaché building is located. The cultural attaché is located in the Engineers Building in Gaza Street.” Mona bint Moosa al Zadjaliah, the cultural attaché in Cairo said that all Omani students and workers in the city were safe.
