The US embassy in London is to be converted into a luxury hotel as part of a £1 billion development of Grosvenor Square. The Grade II listed building will become empty once American officials move to their new embassy in London’s Nine Elms next year. The building will be converted into a 137-room property with a spa and ballroom capable of hosting 1,000 guests according to plans to be submitted next month by developer Qatari Diar, which is owned by the Qatari Investment Authority, the Evening Standard has reported.
