Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told prime minister-designate Faiez Serraj that his country’s embassy is looking to return to Tripoli soon and that Turkish Airlines will also restart flying to Libya. Serraj met Erdogan in Istanbul prior to flying back to Tripoli after the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the meeting Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s support for the Libyan Political Agreement and Serraj’s Government of National Accord. For his part, Serraj called on Turkish companies to return to Libya and start work again. He also urged them to look at potential new projects in the country.
