North Korea opened an embassy in the Belarusian capital Minsk on Monday, according to an article published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Prior to the opening of the embassy, North Korea’s Russian embassy had non-residential status for Belarus, according to a government document listing foreign missions published in April 2016. North Korea also had a registered trade representative, Chol Hun Ryu, who was stationed in the capital.
