The Cambodian embassy in Indonesia rescued 20 Cambodians who were victims of human trafficking and were detained, and also helped one Cambodian migrant worker to be repatriated. According to a press release from Foreign Ministry spokesman Chum Sounry on Friday, the Cambodian embassy cooperated with Indonesian authorities and the International Organization for Migration in Jakarta to rescue and organize for repatriation for Cambodian migrant workers affected by human trafficking and who were in prison in Indonesia. Mr. Sounry said there were three cases. In the first case, a migrant worker arrived back in Cambodia after the worker has been detained on Bali in Indonesia. Mr. Sounry added that there are 18 illegal Cambodian migrant workers detained in the Kantor Immigration Class III Tarempa center on Riau island, which is about 1,600 kilometers from Jakarta.
