Newsline: Switzerland to open new consulate general in Chengdu

As part of the government’s efforts to promote business between China and Switzerland and further boost Sino-Swiss bilateral relations, Switzerland is opening a consulate general in Chengdu, Sichuan Province later in November. Frank Eggmann was appointed the consul general. The new consulate general will focus on the economy, trade, innovation and tourism. An official opening ceremony will take place in early 2017. It will be Switzerland’s fifth official representation in China. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou in Guangdong Province and Hong Kong also have a consulate general.
