Newsline: Fiji Embassy damaged in New Zealand quake

A brick chimney on the Fiji Embassy in Wellington has come down in the quake and gone through a flat next door. The massive 7.5-magnitude quake that struck Sunday has caused widespread damage, and slips on State Highway 1 have isolated Kaikoura. Contractors will resume work at first light to assess the safety of buildings and major South Island highways and continue clearing slips to re-open earthquake-closed roads.
