Cuban Ambassador Cordovez said that it is a very difficult moment for Cubans as Former President Fidel Castro died on Friday night. “We know that Fidel was 90 and that this moment could arrive at any time. But we were prepared. But anyhow, it is very hard moment for the Cubans,” Cordovez told TIMES NOW. The Former President shared a good relationship with India as he was close to Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Fidel Castro also gave a warm hug to Indira Gandhi during the NAM Summit in New Delhi in 1983, which is considered to be a memorable moment in world history. Fidel Castro, who survived a crippling US trade embargo as well as dozens, possibly hundreds, of assassination plots, died eight years after ill health forced him to formally hand power over to Raul Castro.
